A direct route

Since 1993 BBMC Goodword provides a direct route to effective and efficient communication. We work with business, public sector and non-profit organisations. To enable our clients to communicate with their audiences we develop concepts and write text. In addition to these core activities, we supply a range of complementary services for marketing, corporate communication and public relations.

Efficiency at realistic prices

We have decided to keep the core of our agency small, but surround it with a network of associates. These people, who belong to the best in their trade, are brought in to collaborate with you on a project basis. This means you get an efficient service at a realistic price, because you work directly with the creatives and we keep overheads low. You do not have to run after people; we look after project management, avoiding complications and time-wasting.

An international network

We have offices in the United Kingdom, the United States (DVG Goodword) and the Netherlands (HPC Goodword). The Goodword network includes art directors, copywriters, editors, designers, photographers, illustrators, web site developers and other communication specialists. Whether it concerns business-to-consumer, business-to-business or internal communication, we help you to find the right words and use them to greater effect.

Work examples

Bank of Scotland

Text development for a campaign to promote savings accounts, including customer letters, brochure and contents direct mail package. Our aim was to produce an unusual campaign to test financial products among existing customers. We wanted to avoid creating yet another direct mail package. This was achieved by using a relaxed, tongue-in-cheek tone of voice.

Danisco

Concept and development for the launch of a new product, Fine Art Flute, including advert and contents mailer. Our client wanted to create awareness and generate interest among a specific audience, namely people involved in design and print for marketing consumer goods, in particular sales promotion.

Weir

For Weir we produced text for a series of product brochures on their range of industrial pumps. The challenge was to find the right balance between technical details and sales messages, while addressing various audiences across the globe. We provided a template text setting out the general benefits of the Weir products and translated individual product features into specific user benefits.

Anglo-Eastern

Concept and development of corporate brochures and web site for Denholm Ship Management and Anglo-Eastern. Prior to the merger of Anglo-Eastern Group and Denholm Ship Management our brief was to differentiate Denholm and position the company as the leading ship manager. Following the merger we produced text for a new corporate brochure and web site aimed at a variety of international audiences.

Arts & Business

As part of our sponsorship of the arts, we wrote the text for an A&B pamphlet. It contains interviews with business leaders such as Susan Rice, Chief Executive, Lloyds TSB Scotland, and Dominic Fry, Group Director Corporate Communications, ScottishPower. They argue that if corporate social responsibility is about how business relates to people, the arts will help you get more out of that relationship.

University of Glasgow

Concept and text development corporate and course materials for the University of Glasgow Business School, including direct marketing mailer, course brochures, structure and contents web site. We were asked to help produce campaign materials which attract expressions of interest from a range of domestic and international audiences, including students and business people.

MIHR

This international charity aims to improve the health of people in developing countries. For this purpose they use an innovative method, namely the improvement of intellectual property management skills in these countries. We helped them to formulate their messages, designed their corporate identity and produced their printed communication materials.

Aberlour Child Care Trust

To show that Aberlour is at the forefront of policy development on issues affecting young people such as disability and dependency, we turned their annual report into a forceful brochure. In a series of human interest stories, people involved with Aberlour explain vividly how they benefit from tomorrow's problems being tackled today.

SHIL

As a company set up to develop innovative ideas coming out of the NHS into commercially viable products, SHIL needed to create a brand which visualises their professional personality - a business that drives developments and makes waves. We designed their new corporate identity and assisted them in an awareness campaign aimed at business audiences.
